The Aston Martin Valhalla: Expected in 2024
The new 2024 Aston Martin Valhalla (previously known as the Aston Martin AM-RB 003) is getting ready for production at the end of 2023. It will definitely be a car worth waiting for. We're taking orders now for this hand-built Hypercar that combines the best of a supercar with the benefits of a plug-in hybrid Electric Vehicle.
Its name is rooted in mythology, but it's a totally modern interpretation of what a hypercar should be. And being a hypercar means it will also be exclusive. In this case, that means only 999 copies will be built for worldwide distribution. Exclusivity has a price and as the saying goes, "the early bird almost always gets the worm." The new Aston Martin Valhalla is part of the brand's plan to leverage its connection to the Aston Martin Cognizant Formula One Team.

Aston Martin Plug-In Hybrid

Valhalla: An Aston Martin First
The new Valhalla is the first plug-in hybrid vehicle for the A-M brand. Power derives from a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine with a high-performance exhaust system, a flat-plane crank and 740 horsepower of power. The engine is well-known for its accelerative abilities and power-to-size ratio.
So starting with this engine, you may be asking, what else have you got? How about a pair of electric motors to add to the fun. Located on both the front and rear axles, they combine with the gasoline engine for a net output of 937 horsepower (!). Power like this can tick off 2.5 seconds for a 0-62 mph run. At the other end of the speedometer, the Valhalla is capable of achieving 217 mph. Hypercar indeed.
The Valhalla utilizes an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission. New from the ground up, this gearbox does not possess a reverse gear. Instead, the electric motors are used to back the vehicle.
The design uses a variation of the AMG V8. It was entirely reconfigured to be unique to the vehicle with modifications to accommodate an inverter, a battery system and two electric motors. The result is a vehicle that can run up to 80 mph with power coming exclusively from the front-axle electric drive motor. And when things get too fast, there are high-performance Carbon Ceramic Matrix brakes to bring the speeds back to a more manageable level.
Aston Martin Valhalla Design
The Valhalla is a looker, too.
Fluid curved fenders cover the front tires in an almost otherworldly shape. It's an ethereal experience that only improves as a viewer moves toward the rear of the Valhalla. A roof-mounted air scoop cools the engine's intercooler. The IC engine's exhaust system looks as incredible as it sounds, exiting through the rear diffuser. An added visual distinction comes from the forward-hinged dihedral doors, which give the Valhalla the complete Buck Rogers treatment.
Wild creases hide functional intakes and create interest on every plane of the Valhalla. The trademark Aston Martin grille is here too. Constructed of carbon fiber and an aerodynamics scheme direct from the Aston Martin Valkyrie, the Valhalla brings a perfect balance of performance, handling, downforce and driving dynamics that help to redefine the supercar segment. In the words of the company, "The Valhalla is a new generation Aston Martin. It defines a new driver and driving experience-- "the Mastery of Driving," a true ultra-luxury, exclusive British supercar.
