The Aston Martin DB12. The brand's new Super Tourer
- The DB12 features a 671 horsepower twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 engine.
- Successor to the outgoing Aston Martin DB11.
- Able to sprint from zero to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds.
- Top speed of 202 mph.
- Features an electronic rear differential and Michelin Pilot Sport 5 performance tires.
The new DB12 is pure Aston Martin from tip to tail. Low, wide and sexier than ever, the Aston Martin DB12 is the latest from the brand founded Lionel Martin and Robert Bamford. From 1947, the company was guided by David Brown with all cars carrying the DB prefix in tribute to the company's leader who helped grow the brand into the powerhouse it is today. The most notable Aston Martin was the DB5 made famous by James Bond, in the movie "Goldfinger."
According to Road & Track Online, Sean Connery's Bond character was originally supposed to drive a Jaguar E-Type as the hero car, but Jaguar wanted the film production company to pay for the vehicles. The Jaguar's destiny was sealed when a call was made to Aston Martin instead, securing Aston Martin's place in history.

The Aston Martin DB12: Rightful heir to the Aston Martin DB11
Now referred to as a super tourer rather than a grand tourer. The super prefix seems to fit. There are improvements everywhere. These include a new, lower coke bottle silhouette with a larger grille for improved cooling. The track of the car (tire placement) is now wider by a quarter-inch in front and almost a full-inch in back.
Under the longer-than-long hood lies a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 that is hand-built by Mercedes-AMG. But unlike the engine found in AMG cars, this V8 offers larger turbos and a completely revised cooling system for more power overall than the Mercedes version. Power tops out at 671 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque. These figures are even more powerful than the prior V8's engine and even trump the power of Aston Martin's legendry V12 engines.
Underneath it all, the DB12 brings a new firmer suspension with stiffer anti-roll bars and adaptive shock absorbers. This sport tourer rides on specially-developed Michelin Pilot Sport S 5 summer tires. Everything else about the new Aston Martin DB12 is better, too. A new brake booster helps with pedal feel, while available carbon-ceramic brakes reduce weight by nearly 60 lbs.
A newly-designed DB12 interior.
This new Super-Tourer from Aston Martin features a newly-designed, more streamlined interior. Outfitted with leather, Alcantara, and other highline materials it stands head and shoulders above all other segment competitors.
If this interior is not elegant enough for you, Aston Martin will go you one better by introducing the Aston Q program, which offers an impossibly higher customization than even you would think possible.
The new Aston Martin infotainment system features a 10.3-inch touchscreen display with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. There will be over the air updates along with onboard 3D navigation.
