Napleton's Aston Martin took center stage at the Oak Brook Polo Club during the Butler Challenge Cup Championship. Our vehicles led the on-field festivities during pre-match opening ceremonies. We also had a great time entertaining spectators at our field-side hospitality tent where audience members got a close-up look and were able to sit in a variety of incredible Aston Martin vehicles.
About The Oak Brook Polo Club Butler Challenge Cup Championship
The prestigious Butler Challenge Cup Championship was the final match of the first tournament of the 2023 Season. Teams from the Chicagoland area competed at various polo clubs to play for the rights to the Butler Challenge Cup. The championship trophy is a beautiful sterling silver cup provided by the Butler Family in honor and celebration of the family that founded the Oak Brook Polo Club in 1922 and then the Village of Oak Brook in 1958, which is subsequently known in polo circles as the "Town That Polo Built".

2023 Oak Brook Polo Club Butler Challenge Cup Championship
Polo is a field sport played on horseback and it's one of the world's oldest known team sports. Yes, Ralph Lauren's Polo brand takes its name from the historic sport. Each game is played with two opposing teams. The objective of the game is to score a small hard ball through the opposing team's goal using a long-handled wooden mallet. Each team consists of four mounted riders, and a match typically lasts around one to two hours.
Polo is often referred to as "the sport of kings", so it's only fitting that our gorgeous and luxurious Aston Martin vehicles are involved. The sport is played professionally all around the world and it has a very rich history, even being an Olympic sport from 1900 to 1936.
Why the Oak Brook Polo Club?
The Oak Brook Polo Club was formed in 1922 by legendary businessman, Paul Butler and it's one of the oldest polo clubs in the United States. The club has hosted countless prestigious national and international polo events and tournaments such as the U.S. Open Polo Championship. For many years the Oak Brook Polo Club has been a popular Sunday tradition and social scene known for entertaining Hollywood celebrities, royalty, and Chicagoland's distinguished. The Oak Brook Polo Club has a very rich history and many even say that Polo created the village of Oak Brook, IL.
The Club continues to host Sunday polo matches and attract thousands of spectators who are enamored by the skill and majesty of this timeless sport. Where does the Oak Brook Polo Club Play?
Since the 2022 season, the Oak Brook Polo Club returned to the historic Cecil Smith Field. The field is next to the prestigious Butler National Golf Course and is just east of the Oak Brook Bath & Tennis Club located in Oak Brook, Illinois. The field is just 5 miles from Napleton's Aston Martin Downers Grove and only 20 miles from Napleton's Aston Martin Chicago.
